Weight Watchers

If any of you are following weight watchers or want some general info on what foods are good foods i.e. the lower the point value, the better the food, I found a link for a site that has great info including an eating out guide.

Goal #1

I just don't know what got into me yesterday, but I surely fell off the wagon. Just felt like eating ALL day long and that is exactly what I did!!! OH well, I will be starting over again TODAY!!! Excited though that I have made goal number one of being under 200 lbs by the end of August. Made that goal yesterday morning at 198, ruined it throughout the day and weighed in at an even 200 this morning. Hopefully will be able to get back on track today and make up for yesterday! Can't complain though since I have lost 18 pounds in a little over 14 days. Hopefully if I keep up with the breastfeeding and watching what I eat, I will be able to continue to lose the weight.

Looking forward to taking a walk with the kiddos this afternoon and then will hopefully start a more regimented exercise program Monday since that will be two weeks since delivery. Hopefully I am recovered enough to do some light aerobics and ab work. We will see. Glad to see all of you that are participating!!

Next goal is to be 190 by the end of September. I have found that if I set 10 pound increments, it is easier to achieve my goals.

Still struggle

It's amazing how well you can do and then bam.....someone give you chocolate covered pretzels....

I also am at my highest weight ever. I have stuggled with weight all my life but since my daughter was born (and she is 6 now) I have done down hill. I need to correct myself this year. I've had a lot of foot problems that I think will be improved with less weight on my feet.

I have been successful with weight watchers in the past but just haven't had luck with it this past time. It's a great program but I need to get in the right mental frame of mind.

Well, it is early not and I need to get off to work. Thanks for the comments. I want to believe that we can do it.

Lack of direction

Cheerio! I am along for the journey with you all. I have not been on the scale in a while but at last check I was 135 which is still 12 pounds over my pre-baby weight. I am settling in to being a mom of 2. Hadley is 2 and is so fun but can be challenging. Treva is 4 months old and we have been having some issues with her and her tummy. She is colicky and right now she is down and out with an ear infection. We have been up a lot through the night and not sleeping very well. She is not able to tolerate breast milk so we have gone the formula route with her. With Hadley, I was back to pre-pregnancy weight when she was 5 weeks old.

Life has been throwing challenges at me. I seem to just eat when I can and do not have meals planned out. With this, I do not always make the right choices...I just throw anything in my mouth that I can to be able to get everything done and still have a little time to relax at the end of the evening. Prior to this ear infection I was getting up and running in the morning before my husband went to work. I will get back in to this routine once we are only getting up once a night. I have used food journaling in the past and need to get back into this habit.

I am excited to join you all as we all support and encourage each other in the fight against fat. I look forward to reading about all the strides we are making and watching the pounds fall off. Each of us have our own challenges and obstacles in life but with this support we can all attain our own personal goals, no matter how small or large the goal.

Being a mom is what I have always wanted to do and be...and for that I am grateful. I will accept changes that happen to my body because I am beautiful as a mother and wife. I am not willing to accept motherhood as an excuse. Thanks for welcoming me to your blog and I hope that I will be able to encourage each of you and you do the same for me.

Good Day everyone!
I am starting out at 185. My highest ever! I am following the 'old' work out eating plan that I lost all the weight on. Down to 130! (Minus the boot camp exercise - for now)
Breakfast - 1 hard boiled egg, (only way I can eat them) and a small yougart
Apple for snack
Lunch - veggie soup and a cheese stick
Grapes for snack
Dinner - taco salad
4 cups of tea and 8 glasses of H2O! - needless to say, I have pee-ed numerous times today!
NO FOOD after 8pm!
Walked up and down the stairs for 20 minutes - baby sleeping.
J
30lbs in 12 mts!!!!

Success Tips

I am now the proud mother of my third baby and I have been successful with losing the baby weight with each pregnancy. Here are some of my tips that have helped me in the past.

1. Keep a food journal and write EVERYTHING down including the condiments and drinks... they add up as well!!

2. Weekly weigh ins - This helps to ensure that you are staying on track!

3. Exercise - NO matter how small it may be ANYTHING is better than NOTHING!

4. If you have a lot of weight to lose, set up goals of 5 - 10 pound increments making it more realistic rather than unattainable!

5. Measure and do monthly follow ups of the following body parts - even if you aren't losing weight, you may be losing inches which is just as important.
a. Upper arms
b. thighs
c. waist
d. hips
e. bust

6. Allow for one day a week where you can "eat what you want" but make sure that it is still in moderation.

7. If you get off track one day, start right back up the next day. Don't fall into the rut that most people do by saying I will start on Monday because that specific Monday NEVER comes.

Hope these help!!!

Texting on here?

I think we should be able to recieve text messages through here if we sign up for it. Your post didn't come through to my phone though. I may have done it wrong. I didn't write anything down today which is bad. We were scrambling to finish cleaning before our open house day (only one person showed) and get to church. Because of that, I didn't eat any breakfast (I know....bad). We got home around 11 and Mike said we were leaving at 11:30 to go somewhere. He wouldn't tell us where. I packed some snacks but no lunch because he told me we would be eating where we were going.

We ended up going to Nelson's Ledges and climbed on rocks for roughly two hours. Didn't each lunch but munched on snacks. It was good exercise. I did eat some veggie sticks where are 3 points for 28 of them. I am rounding up to 6 points since I think I ate more than 28. We then stopped at Rocknees on the way home and I got a salad and ate half (no pita) and I am saving the other half for tomorrow. With the chicken, dressing, and cheese I will guess around 8-10 points. That puts me under which I know weight watchers frowns on. I am drinking a glass of milk now and eating a bananna.

I know I am allowed 27 points since I am over that dreaded mark as well (and didn't have a baby :)) lol) but hope to be under it very soon.

Thanks for posting! This is kind of fun! :)

Sunday August 22nd

This morning I weighed in at 205 pounds! I am excited that the baby weight ( a high of 218 pounds) just seems to be coming right off! I know that I will eventually hit a plateau, but I am hoping I can lose the next 5 lbs. before the end of August so I can be under 200 lbs. by then! I am allowed 26 points a day according to one of the older weight watchers programs. My points for today are:
Breakfast: mini wheats and milk - 5
Lunch: Lean cuisine rigatoni - 7
Snack: Baked Lays - 2
Dinner: grilled chicken breast 6 oz- 6
corn on the cob (2) - 2
spinach with parm cheese- 1
Snack: popcorn - 1
piece of chocolate - 2
Total for the day: 26 points

I hope to try and start walking this week once I have healed a little better. Still very slow and a little painful moving around. I am excited to continue on this adventure and will hopefully be able to incorporate more vigorous workouts into the schedule in a few weeks.

Thank You!

Thank you for setting this up!!! I just haven't had the time to do it!!!!

I did it!

Okay, I set this up and hope that this will be a good way to keep each other motivated. Sometimes this may be easier than talking. It is private but I can invite more people. I've been this weight for way too long and it needs to change. I am almsot 35 and I can feel it in my feet (especially the one I hurt. I went for a 45 minute walk today and it felt good.
